Mórahalom, Hungary, 04/03/2019
The opening conference took place on 28 February 2019 Mórahalom, which officially started to be implemented within the framework of the Interreg IPA Hungary-Serbia Cross-Border Program "Natural selfness - NATESS" project.
The project will take place from 1 November 2018 to 31 October 2020, during which a special experience center will be set up under the direction of the lead beneficiary, Municipality of Irig (Serbia). In addition to the three Serbian projects partners is the Hungarian partner is Mora-Tourist Nonprofit Ltd. in Mórahalom. The touristic non-profit Ltd. contributes to achieving the goal of preparing studies and organizing training and study-tour.
After the presentation of the project and the partners were presented on health and ecotourism, that is the main pillars of the experience center. During the conference, the general presentation of ecotourism was assisted by György Krnács, the nature guard of Kiskunság National Park. In Mórahalom are several hiking route what presented by Anikó Hegedűs, head of the Green Youth’s Hostel of Mórahalom. At the end of the ecotourism theme, Otto Perényi, Regional Director of Stiefel Eurocart Kft., presented the potential of extended reality in this topic.
By presenting the concept of health tourism and the health resort of Mórahalom, Zsolt Berta, responsible for the communication of St. Elisabeth Mórahalmi Thermal Bath, started the second topic. After the presentation the participants of the event visited the St. Elisabeth Spa, led by Szilveszter Pálinkó, Móra-Vitál Kft. Guests could also see practical examples of how to use medicinal water. At the end of the conference, guests could also try the Mórahalom Spa.
Participants of the conference considered the conference to be useful, as it created not only the professional foundations of the project, but also the partners, which provided a good basis for further cooperation.
About the Programme
The Interreg-IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Hungary-Serbia is implemented within the 2014-2020 European Union financial framework, under the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA). On the basis of “shared management system" of the participating countries - Hungary and Serbia, the Programme funds and supports cooperation projects of organizations located in the Programme-eligible area – Hungarian counties Csongrád and Bács-Kiskun, and Serbian territories: West Bačka, North Bačka, South Bačka, North Banat, Central Banat, South Banat and Srem district.
The Programme helps the development of a stable and cooperating region and the overall quality of life in the border region. It enables economic collaboration of organizations from the two countries, nurtures the common identity, and cultural and historical heritage of the border region, and contributes to its environmental sustainability and safety.
